In one sense, it reveals shared uncertainties and complexities that come along with being a young adult. Published in 1999, the book presents the common difficulties that the majority of female adolescents share. Furthermore, the book lays out Georgia’s day-to-day life in a diary format that addresses the readers as “American-type chums!” (1). The first book stems from the creation of the main character, Georgia, who is a female adolescent and the narrator of the book.
